Muddy Mess North of Us
As SERVPRO of N. Vista/ San Marcos was finishing up work for the Ventura fire, the heavy rains hit. The rains in Santa Barbara were so heavy that it caused mud slides. All the burned, loose shrubs on land were easily being pushed down hills along with dirt. The homes that had survived the fire were now being taken out by mud slides. Just as we thought the crisis was over. Of course our crew members decided to stay longer to help. The only problem was the mud slides had shut down main and side roads. Our team was stuck in the hotel while the streets were being shut down left and right. All we could do was wait. Finally the storm stopped and the damage was done. Houses that we were working on were now gone. It was a very sad time for so many people, but SERVPRO of Escondido did not give up. Fire, Rain and mud cannot stop us. We found ways around the roads that were shut down and began work immediately. It is amazing to see how people come together during times of need. Our additional crew members drove 7+ hours to get to Santa Barbara, taking back routes and windy roads. It has been long working days for our crews that are up north, some are still there. We are so thankful here at SERVPRO of Escondido to have such hard working team members on our side!
